Picture the Difference is a community organization based in Los Angeles and strives to capture stories/collaborate with individuals who want to come together to help people and make a difference!
Our goal is to help individuals push past the fear of vulnerability and see the beauty in their struggles.
We are so excited to announce our most recent collaboration with Manoela Mello an incredibly inspirational Photographer from Passo Fundo, Brazil.
Manoela strives to empower individuals that may be struggling with anxiety and depression through her Photography and recent project entitled CRISIS.
""Crisis" depicts brief moments that trigger feelings / actions of people suffering from depressive anxiety.
Anxiety or depression isn't a joke. It's not about being a drama or a bad day. The disease doesn't have a definite face or form,
not everyone who has it doesn't appear to suffer.
Usually, people don't understand b'cause they expect
that those who suffer from mental disorder only walk without makeup, with tattered clothes and a messy hair, as if they are completely insane. By the way, the opposite. These people lock up every day, a relentless struggle to keep their heads high. There is a mask that underneath it, many can't see and countless can't understand.
Through this work, opting for the choice of self-portrait, I interpreted my own emotional and physical journey for everyone to reflect on the weight that so many people carry today."
